Today's challenge:

Making friends with "no"

  • Consider where in your life you may be in the habit of saying "yes" when you actually want to say "no".

  • Practice flexing your "no" muscles. Give yourself permission to decline an invitation, or take something off the calendar. Maybe you need to set a boundary with someone when you might normally fall into people-pleasing mode. Or practice being honest at work when someone asks for your assistance, and you know you're already spread too thin!

  • Remember that a kind but honest "no" to others is often a loving, generous "yes" to ourselves.
